I am looking for a pass side door glass for my 55 bug. I have found 56-57 & up glass same size as my 55, I have found 55s , They where scratched real bad, so maybe there is a differant year same size and same logo. What years did the LARGE SEKURIT logo start with and end,? What years did small logo start and end? What years did the DOUBLE logo start and end.
Does any body have the RIGHT answeres to these questions?
Dont guess. No maybe. or I think.
Exsperts only PLEASE. |

For what its worth i own a 54 two 55's and a 56.......
the 56 has the smaller logo
one of the 55's has the larger sekurit and the other has a larger duro logo
the 54 has the the larger sekurit
hope this helps... 99 percent sure the glass was never taken out of all three cars because the window rubber is beyond crusty.

Kevin Thats right mid 55 the logo went from the big sekurit to the small due to the early production of the 56 and was the same until somewhere in 67 and the style changed a little! |

There are other threads on this subject. In summary (these are approximate dates):
1 large SEKURIT or DURO-GLAS only - through 1953
1 large SEKURIT/DURO-GLAS with "snake" and AS-2, etc. - 1954-55
2 large, mirror-image SEKURIT/DURO-GLAS with snake, AS-2, etc - 1956-mid '57
2 small, mirror-image SEKURIT/DURO-GLAS, etc (usually with VW logo) - late '57-on
OG Windshields do not necessarily follow these conventions. |

While we're on the subject, anyone know if there is a standard on which direction these logos face (facing inside or outside). I know I'm way off years in this forum, but my '69 has a mismatch of some facing inside the car (the way they can be read) and some face outside. When I get to replacing glass, I'd like to get all matching Sekurit log glass and the appropriate directions as well.
Thanks. |

Would the glass and logo be different for a Euro oval vs an oval coming to the states? Thank you! I have a 57 Euro. |

Only the windshield would be different. The U.S. required an AS1 (laminated screen), where the AS2 (Visurit) screen was used elsewhere. Some U.S. spec cars in the early oval era did come with AS2 screens, but those may have been gray-market or tourist delivery cars. |
