Im about to buy this speedo. But after looking at a few things now, might be changing my mind. It has a part number of L158001.3, and dated April 1954. My concerns:
The knob (Looks like a clock knob)
The trip dial..(Has only 3 counter roller digits?)
Let me know what you think...

I'm no trip speedo expert, but I noticed that too. That's why it's not in my garage. :wink: |

Forget it thats a homemade job its a bobo your car deserves better than that! Even the needle is a repop it dosent have the reflective strip its completly clear. I wouldent put that thing in my gocart!! Its been opened more than Susy on 36 th and 48 th st by the pickle stand! :lol: Just kidden but its NO gooooood :!: |

Digging up this old thread I've found a trip speedo just like it, only in km.
And thanks to Jonh In2VWs I can prove its original, as it's shown in one of his catalogs dated 1955.
My speedo is also dated 4/54, my 4 digit trip is dated 10/56 so the change must have been made in between.
