Looks like L469 Anthracite Gray to me.

I'm surprised no one else chimed in yet. It certainly looks very much like Anthracite to me. Since it is a color that looks different in different lighting, from full sunlight to shaded twighlight it can really vary in appearance, which is why I pointed you to a Search in the Gallery. Also depends on how well the color was mixed by the paint shop! I have some color chip sheets that show that color, which suffer from the same issue, depends on the lighting.
Usually people like to comment though when talking about that color. It's one of the more uncommon VW colors form the early 60s but there are some people that really like it. I remember my first Baja had that on its interior.
Here's a picture of an Anthracite type 3 Ghia from an early 60s factory color brochure (again, a scan is only as good as the settings of the scanner that made it, plus the condition of the image being scanned)
