nope, i don't yet have anything. a 1980 i am looking at needs the carb ajusted according to the shop it had a prepurchase inspecction at... |

Still, stock VW configuration after 1977 or so is fuel injection. The guys on the other forum may have more information since most do have carbs. |

right on, thanks for sharing the info. i wonder why the owner didn't bother to tell me they replacced the engine with a non stock motor, any guesses as to what it could be... |

The engine is probably still stock, but they changed the FI for Carbs somewhere along the line. |

some european models came with a carb setup. Mine did.
i thought my carb needed adjusting but it turned out i needed the timing adjusted and nobody new how. check this link http://www.vw-resource.com/009_dizzy.html |

correction: early on, all did. both AC engines available in Europe had carburetors (Code CU and CT), injection came along in the mid-80s.
