Thanks for your assistance with getting shipping quotes Neil. You are truly an international superstar. Now I just have to survive the weekend at Rafferty's, and get it home safely. We will pick it up this afternoon. I hope we don't spill Guinness and Murphy's all over it.

 are you going to open it danny or leave it wrapped?

hazetguy Sat Sep 12, 2009 9:09 am

it's probably some crappy remnants from someone's interior renovations. 8)

You mean like an English "Camperification" of a Barndoor with the installation of a Rock and Roll Bed and such?

BUCIOBATISTI Sat Sep 12, 2009 10:41 am

wait a minute, I can't see Bernard Newbury's signature on the cushions anywhere...

53kombi Sat Sep 12, 2009 10:43 am

You are kinda right Brendan. But no rock and roll bed here. Monkey Nut VW garage was kind enough to host the unveiling of the contents. Check it out. First a hint at what is hiding inside the box.

Opening the box

53kombi Sat Sep 12, 2009 10:49 am

And Brendan beat me to the setup photo. Here is the rest of the interior, that I got in a trade about four years ago. Thanks Mark. After spending almost ten years on two different continents, the complete NOS Westfalia Museum Camping-Box will be reunited in my June '53 kombi. This is one of four interiors that the Westfalia factory built in the late sixties for the museum. They are based on the prototype pictured in the 1953 sales brochure. This is the LAST barndoor Camping-Box to leave the factory.
