Hi everybody. My name is Mal and I'm obsessive compulsive. I read every roll cage thread in here, and copied all the images. Presented below are the best images hosted at this site. Images hosted at Photobucket et cetera were not included to avoid copyright hassles.

Very nice thread, I got some ideas from it thanks.
Also for photobucket etc pictures, sites that do image hosting have their copyrights setup for linking wherever you want. The only time that I'd be concerned about linking images and copyrights is if you copy images from a store's site or from a site that isn't something like photobucket/imageshack etc. |

Excellent post. It's great to see how so many different people have tackled their own cages. Another good point with only using thesamba gallery images is that the respective owners can't delete the images and leave a dead link here. |

i hope im allowed to post stuff here...
anyway i got a 6 point cage for free some im putting in in mi baja.
it doesnt fit quite right tho of course.... im just supposed to bend and smash it to make it fit right?? and where exactly do i want to try and position it?? just where it all fits? or is there something i should be going for...
also is there a kit that mounts to the cage in the package shelf area and ties into the frame horns? i think ive seen something like that before.
thanks alot |

This will definitely help me with my new project.
American living in Brazil with a broke Fusca and some tools.
My goal is to build a sleeper rally car than can handle the bad cobble stone streets and be the fasting thing in town. But when people look at it, it looks like a piece of junk. |

Question
I'm wanting to turn my baja into a no top baja cruiser. I have a 6 point cage right now. Can I cut the top off or do I have to tie the front end into the cage first? |

the pan will not collapse if you cut the body first. just don't put a Mosler safe in it and go jumping before you build the cage |

Is the pan a strong enough part to hold the cage if you do roll? Doesn't seam that way to me.. Where do they mount that sorry for the newbie question |

the trick to mounting seats, seat belts and roll cages is spreader plates. big slabs of 1/8" or thicker steel on top and bottom, to spread the load over more surface area

It's designed for cars with a 3" body lift, so you have to cut it to run it in a standard car. it does not have the side intrusion bar shown on page 22 of the NHRA rules |
