Finally I've found some time to post some pictures of this car.... I'll post up more when I get some more spare time....

Looking good! I'll be bying a coach soon myself, not going to do a big project like this but i love inspiration! Fun to see a norwegian project on the samba too.

What engine does it have/ what are you going to put in?

I'm definitely looking forward to seeing more build pictures.

That center seat arrangement is very interesting. It looks like the seat is mounted out on a floating type system, I see a roll bar-like item and three shoulder harnesses. Do you have any shots that show exactly what is going on with that seat?

That is a common setup in Norway, built that way to make it possible to register your van as a "combined car", basically to get lower taxes. most of these cars was rebuilt in Norway by VW before being sold.

Special requirements to amount of space in the boot and protection behind the seats. Very few vans in Norway were sold as multivans. mostly because our tax system made them VERY expensive. As a "combined car" on the other side they were reasonably priced.

I might be buying one like that next week with those seats, this one has the same brown interior and same seat arrangement (this one has four three point harnesses and the seat has been moved further back), i can take picks and make a thread if people are interested. The "coach" model is a Norwegian thing as far as I can tell, the Norwegian carat is different from the us one, could be interesting to figure out the differences. I think the coach is a mix of the US carat and something else, and the Norwegian carat is something entirely different (a luxurious version that has six captains seats, same hight as a standard van and special "telephone dial" alloy rims). Don't quote me on this thought, I've never seen a US carat nor have I seen a Norwegian one.

Oh and by the way: these often came with 5 speed box and some with LSD

I love watching build pics of people restoring the body of cars the right way. Its an art. So much talent. I wish I could do it.

Good eye! Actully I bought that at a Nascar race in Texas.

So, no we don't have Home Depot in Norway... I wish though!

Love the detail of the photos. I feel like going home and tearing mine apart tonight for a new paint job. I love it when people give the step by step and not just a before and after photo. I for one don't know much about what I'm doing and seeing the whole process makes it possible for me to take on a lot of work that my van needs.

Is the inspiration art taped to the back window done up in 3-D CAD or just a 2-D drawing?

It's just a Photoshop..

Did the bodywork on this one for the same company a couple of years go..
