Is anyone familiar with this publication? Looks like this page has possible dealer options from 1950? I received it from Peter Valentine when I bought the Jan 51 bus. I was tempted to weld in the rear window, but Peter was very sure that it was a dealer modification from 1951. He referred to this page, and noted that the rear window had an "m code". Looks like it has a "wsk" number as opposed to an "m code" number. Anyway, maybe someone out there can shed some light on these numbers, as I am not familiar with them. I cut the page in half to get a higher resolution.

Infomationen was a small magazine published by VW I think for its dealers (and possibly factory workers?) - it covered subjects such as the status of the VW financials, factory build numbers, new auto models, pictures of dealerships, tips for identifying parts and setting up a parts area in your dealership, etc. I have a copy of Informationen #9 and your page is indeed in it. I think you are correct - there were already some orderable options since 5/15/1950. I am also interested in this subject, as I have a 1950 bus (#5988) that was originally a panel, with a sunroof (Golde) and side windows added very long ago. It is interesting that in your picture, you could order the roof cut for the sunroof! in the figure - Dachausschnitt WSK 5502. I need to write the Hahn dealership group where the bus was originally sold and see if they remember adding these! When I get started on the restoration, I would like to keep the windows and sunroof. |

also interesting to have the rear opening hatch . without reading german makes me wonder if that 5504 option is the hatch rather than just a window opening. |

I just ran "ruckblick fenster" through an online translator and it supposedly means "sample window".
Thanks for the clarification on the publication, pretty neat stuff. I wish they had made it in English. I am not much of a literature guy, but I bet those early publications have some good reading in them. |

I think it means rear view.. this is what I got in another online translation:
Rückblick {m}
vista
review
look back
flashback
retrospect
retrospection
throwback [Am.]
retrospective view
Rückblick {m} [Vermessung]
backsight |

rough online translation of the paragraph:
In the sales department circular No. 15/50 dated 15.5.1950 our wholesalers have already been informed about the different possibilities to prepare the VW transporter for special purposes. As now the Transporter delivery occurs in bigger quantities, this capability now will be also enabled to the traders and authorized workshops so that they also may change the car for special purposes.
It is clear that such special executions are impossible within the scope of a great serial production. To do justice, however, nevertheless, possibly to all wishes, the different execution possibilities which are available to you as an aid for the rebuilding have been worked out by our Technical Development department . From the accompanying arrangement is evident in which mass up to now work-sided to entitled equipment-special wishes was taken into account.
I couldn't fix/make sense of the last sentence....
