In sweden they are called skiftnyckel :)

In Australia they're called sliders.

What's the tool 2nd from the left?

Wout Thu Feb 08, 2018 11:17 pm

Brake adjustment tool for Renault (Hazet 3822), I believe
The other ones are VW (2513 and 2588) and a 20" 650.

Finally got me a 'Remscheid Halter', wanted one for ages and now found one.
Got it today and searched trough my 450 wrenches to fill it.

Bit confused about it's holding 'only' 8 wrenches and no little half round front on it but it seems no parts were removed from the holder. Found very little information about the small a version, maybe someone can help me out about it?

I just acquired this complete, early Hazet 1500 round tool kit. The box is made of fibreglass and the inserts are flocked polystyrene.

With age, the box and the inserts have changed shape/size vs each other and the glue has dried out. I'm not sure it would be possible to glue them back together again as they don't mate closely. What glue would one use to stick polystyrene without dissolving it?

It's bigger than the usual Hazet round boxes, so fits in the back side of the spare tyre, instead of mounting like a hubcap:

Very nice score Fig. I cannot answer your adhesive question except that you are on the right track seeking advice as I know some adhesives would melt the polystyrene.

I think I need to find myself one of these for my spare wheel...

Cheers. Dave

My latest Hazet score! 8)

Hazet 900Z half inch drive socket set. I'm guessing from the mixed logos that it must date from 1965.

The box has new HAZET logo, while contents label has old Hazet logo and doesn't match this set, which has a 916 ratchet instead of the 916S listed, and also has 10mm and 11mm sockets.

All the sockets are new HAZET logo, while all the other tools have old Hazet logo.

I don't know why my images are displaying sideways when they show correctly on my PC.

Very nice. Interesting mix of old and new logos. Dave

If I may, could I get a correct pronunciation on Hazet?
Folks around here say HA-zet. As in "Who has it? He has it."

But I learned it as ha-ZET. With more of a "TS" sound instead of a "ZZZ" sound. ha-TSET.

Just something that bugs when others say it "wrong".
'Cause it's surley not me......

mac_intosh Mon Jul 16, 2018 9:39 am

It‘s the second one „ha-TSET“ with a very sharp S or „Z“ like „Zurich“

Bob Loblaw Mon Jul 16, 2018 11:29 am

I knew it!

Thanks for the confirmation. Now I can correct those heathens with confidence!
