I love this thread too, it makes me wish that I had some pics of mine in its prime!

I've showed this before.

My Father in his bus on Woodbine Street in Ridgewood, Queens in front of where my mother grew up in the early 70's:

My bus taken in the exact same spot (without knowing until later I had done it) shot from the opposite side about 2 years ago:

A little earlier, December 1968. This is on the Grand Central Parkway about 1/2 mile from LaGuardia Airport. The first 3 seconds you can see Shea Stadium

Nah man. I'm a very nostalgic person too. I was born in the wrong decade. It's awesome to see these personal pieces of history.

I just came across this photo of my Dad (RIP) and his 75 Westfalia. Must have been around 1985 or so. I remember it, but not clearly. Irony is he is greeting the same family dogs in my previous photo and on the same street.

That is from the link two posts above Stonefish, so I am now confused whose family that is? The following is what is written in the link.

"A Kodachrome moment in November 1971, shortly after my sister and her family, newly transplanted from Diamond Bar in Southern California, moved into their new home in the Bahia section of Novato. I'm not quite sure how you'd describe the architectural style, but that was it in Bahia. Here I've captured my brother-in-law getting gardening advice from my father, who's hauled us up from Larkspur in our 1966 Rambler Classic wagon. The other vehicle I'm sure needs no introduction. My nephew Dave, age six, strolls out into the cul-de-sac. Antennas at the left are for San Francisco radio station KCBS"

BTW, I know this is off topic in that it's a Splittie, but this is my Dad with his 64 Subhatch Camper during the summer of 1964. He drove the whole family (2 adults, 4 kids, and a large German Shepherd) in a circuit from Los Angeles thru the Northern states to Michigan and back thru the Central and Southwestern states. I had great show and tell stories for first grade....Just thought I would throw it in as it's the VW that got me hooked! :D :D

I am so thankful for auto focus...
Every photo my mother ever took is blurry and has her finger in the lense.
