exciter , Do you know what the reason was behind the original owner shortening the bus? I would like to find one of those simi-short buses for my own.
I assume that it does not do wheelies or endo's when stopping like the short buses do. |

I'd roll one that someone else shortened (not so short bus). It is rather cool looking.
Myself, I could not chop a VW. |

I would never chop one myself but this thing does ride extremley nice . It does not wheelie or endo i did do a wheelie on the dragstrip though this past year. I think the guy shortened it back in 1990 just because he wanted to do that i believe. It has a franklins b4" beam with wildwood brakes and a straight axle conversionkit under it. I have since put 165/45 tires on the front and it sits real low now. I am getting ready to two tone it anthracite gray and black  |

Well thats one cool van! I would never condone cutting a bus just to make it shorter. I always figure it's someone's way of saving the best parts of two crashed buses. |

I believe that bus was owned (built?) by the Samba member "tpinthepack" from down here in FL. |

Besides requiring two crashed buses you need lots of time & lots of beer. |

With a rock-n-roll bed and rear cushion it would be a cool playpen. |

back in the late 60's while serving in USAF in Sacramento, we had a civilian working with us, that shortened his early model van and installed a "sunroof" in the top for the use of hunting, in the lower sierra's, he use to say "goes anywhere I want it to go, and I dont get my feet muddy" I often thought how cool is that. |

I seen that red shorty last year here in ohio at a show super nice bus. The bad thing is that shorty started out life as a true super nice 21 window the owner told me. That almost makes a guy sick  |
