I recently learned Vanagons come equipped with built-in bottle openers!
No this isn't an ad for Widmer Brewing Co.
What other hidden features are there!? |

FNGRUVN,
I didn't discover my oil filler tube extension until after I had owned my Vanagon for 6 years. I was living in Germany and saw an engine that was for sale on display with a long oil filler tube. I asked the guy where I could find one of those cool extensions. He walked me around to the back of my van, pulled off the oil cap and pulled out my oil filler tube.

Pop up the rear seat on your Westy - look on the left. There should be a small l-shaped arm that you can use to "prop" it open, freeing one hand.
Rest of youse guys, you can't give me crap about talking about the rear-prop. Jacob deserves the straight info, hey! |

THIS IS FANTASTIC!!! I don't have to carry around the funnel anymore. I had no idea... Guess that reveals that I have not read my owners manual cover to cover yet... |

Some people never figure out the little storage area underneath the rear cabinet - between the wall and the back cushion. Great flat storage for your shore power line or for a segmented tool box, etc. |

Another little known oil-filling secret is that the cap works perfectly for holding the license plate door open (turned sideways).
Careful with the bottle opener, I've seen it bite off the glass lip of the bottle more than once. |

I've definatly fallen victim to the broken bottle lip! It sure is tempting to go ahead and drink the beer anyways though. |

CHUCK NORRIS BITES THE LIP OFF THE BOTTLE, THEN DROP KICKS THE VAN ACROSS THE LOT. |
