Might just be me, but this sounds like the preamble to a Nigerian prince's email... |

I own a 1959 15 window deluxe here in NY that had POE of Seattle and also a 1959 23 window, POE NY, built a week apart. If the list is still being updated I can provide its VIN. Chris |

Here is a '62 15 window that I found out about a couple years ago. A buddy of mine had heard about it in maybe 2013 and had forgotten about it. He had recently gotten back into VWs again and was asking me if I knew of any cool project cars. He then remembered he knew about this guy. Long story short, we made a day of it and went out to rescue it. The owner of the property, 30 years ago, remembers dragging it out to the spot it was sitting so that his grandpa could sit in it and hunt deer. He could stay warm in it I guess. So there it sat. We walked no less then 2 miles on trails, then about a half mile or so cross country through the woods to get to it. We had no idea how it was going to come out, but I had my chainsaw with, so no worries. We cut an 8' path out of the woods until we got to the main trail and was able to get in there. I had wheel and tires with, so we changed those out. All the hubs were free ( I couldn't believe it) and we hooked it up to a Polaris RZR and proceeded to pull it out. We had some trouble in some of the lower areas that had water, but had it out of the woods within an hour. Couldn't believe it. I've been trying to acquire some parts for it. It's mostly complete. The engine had been removed and buried in a garbage pile a few years back unfortunately and I believe the decklid was part of that pile as well. I have more photos somewhere that I need to find, but enjoy these for now. If anyone has a SWR decklid for this vintage bus, I'd be interested in it. Just PM me and we'll work it out! Thank you!

Wow! Looks like the most solid part of those rocker panels is the vinyl from the interior cards. |

That looks like a '63 (maybe built in late '62). Thin lips, rear wheel well lips, flush rear vents. Just like mine! |

Weird, I wonder if it's has some incorrect metal repairs along with the nose because I also see outie vents and the shorter height '62 only front seats and definitely the 62-only driver's front seat slider |

The nose and dash are not original, when I had the work done I found a nice front end and it happened to be from a 1956 so the bullets and dash pod need to be changed. All the rest of the bus is original. Adjustable driver seat with bracket, lipped rear wheel arch and outward vents and the bigger tail lights. I will post the vin later . Albert |

Ya, post the Vin and/or m plate. Pretty sure you have a 1963.
I'd shave those front bullets off. Better to look custom thank obvious Frankenstein
See below how good that looks (on this DC).

Punch your VIN here :

And see what it comes up with.
Headlight buckets: are they round or kind of oblong/oval? |
