Our family is planning a trip that will have us passing through Boise, and we're looking for recommendations for an overnight camping spot.
Thanks!

If by "through Boise" you need a super quick in and out spot, I can't help you, but if you want to take a drive and see some insanely beautiful country head north out of Boise towards McCall.
the canyon gets pretty tight and the river is wild on your way North out of McCall on 55.
If you can adjust your route, take 55 North to 95 North and be amazed at the beauty up that route. There's camping spots and National Forest Access along there. |

I passed through Boise last year a few times and used freecampsites.net:
https://freecampsites.net/#!Boise,+ID,+United+States
and used 2 of them, I just couldn't remember what ones. We arrived at night, walked the dogs on leash, slept, made coffee, walked dogs and split.
I use that website a ton and have found that the reviews are usually spot on. I have found some super awesome campsites in awesome places and not so awesome places.
Whenever I travel, I try to look up some of the places and if I have time, I swing by and check them out.
Good luck |

More detail: we're heading from Seattle to Salt Lake City for a conference, and are planning on stopping in Boise as a stop overnight on the way out. We're looking for a more of a quick stop campsite that has some local sites nearby to check out while we're there.
We'll be doing our extended sight seeing on the way back to Seattle.
Thanks, James |

Hi James,
There are a bunch of these free camping sites around, but this is one of my favorites. It's more RV oriented, but also has information on more remote places to camp.
