Hello
do you think it worth buying a barndoor deluxe even though its barely has any original parts and the roof is not in good condition and its missing the rag top mechanism. on top of that its expensive. what would be a good price for the description of the bus. or would you recommend buying a newer samba that's restored.

No disrespect intended, but if you have to ask that question, the answer is obvious. My guess is that it may not be a "barndoor" that you are looking at in the first place, but a split bus with "barndoors on the side"

It depends on what expensive means...

You could get KILLED on buying missing parts. If your goal is to have something original, I'd rather have something as complete as possible and rusty than an empty shell. You can buy the metal tomorrow and you pretty much know the cost. Barndoor parts can be very expensive and some of the stuff is very hard to find.

IMHO, you didn't really give enough detail to give good feedback.

one of my first questions is where does it originate from

go for it.

You could always make a shorty, or a roadster

even if was 80% complete that last 20% could cost 80% of the total restoration cost. Then again, there's nothing wrong with driving a BD of any kind that isn't complete, as long as it's back on the road.

go for it... :D :D :D no, just kidding........ if you want something of an honest answer, you need to post some pics, and give a better description of the bus...... :D :D

well, another decent bd lost from the UK to the States...
destination Florida? Or stays CA?

BDs cris-crossing the pond atm (steady Brendan), & how hard is it to predict which ones go which way?

I would bet this one stays in Cali...... :D :D :D :D
