I have seen several threads - but nothing has really nailed it down for me.
I have a 1980 vanagon (Paint code B9B9 or L567).
The pop top has been hand painted in a BRIGHT white, but I want something easier on the eye that is original VW. The van has just been repainted so the shop are also doing the roof. Any suggestions? Is there a VW white which won't damage my retinas in the fierce NZ sun, but will also tie in nicely with my new paint?
Cheers

Depending on the color of the body of the Van--tint the white with a splash of the bottom color---or a contrasting off white will work.
It'll take the harshness of the Tide white outa the pop top. |

I painted mine to match my van. I like the look similar to the later model vans. Mine is an 85. If its prepped properly the paint should stick without a problem.
