Do you have any t-shirts or stickers for your club? I'd love to get my hands on some.

Thanks!

of course;)

Wow guys! Lots of awesome cars there. Thanks for the pictures.

Have you considered opening up the membership to other model Volkswagens? Maybe a Karmann Ghia or two. You would have to change the name to the "Iran Beetle and Other Air-Cooled Volkwagen Club" :)

Thanks for sharing. I hope to see more!

we really did wanted to name it iran volkswagen or iran aircooled vw..club, but according to the fact that the number of ghia or other types are nothing compare to beetles we decided not to change it.
we have lots of campers also but all of'em are being used like camels or donkeys!!
but the idea is not impossible and we will work on it for the next couple of years;)

You have some great cars. It's nice to see early and late models together. The EU plates with Arabic letters are wild. Keep the pictures coming, you have some beautiful scenery.

Great pictures...this is cooler than cool! I like the idea of the post-cruise wash down...I'm sure your VWs get pretty dusty after driving through those deserts!

great pics, Cool to see others enjoying the vws around the world. cant help but thinking how our picture of another country is changed by the media and others. Looks to me that sometimes more than not the people of different countries can get along, its the ones with adgendas that mess it all up.

Love that black vert. 8)

Hello there!

Great to read this post! You can't imaginew how happy we've been to find it!

We are Iris and Franck, from Argentine and France and for more than one year and half now we are driving around the world with our bus "Made in Argentine"

Our website: www.amerikando.com

After crossing Latin america, the USA and Asia, we arrived in Iran 3 weeks ago, discovering our favorite countr since a loooooooong time! (Yes, Iran is far away better than we, the people of the western countries think it is and the people there is wonderfully welcoming).

Our last video: Amerikando in Asia, with the quite complicated crossing of Mongolia

The only "problem" is that we are having some troubles with the engine. Basically, big leak of oil from the transmition. We tryed to fix it several times but each time the gasket get bad after few kilometers and the flywheel is touching the gear box´s case. We're afraid the crankshaft is broken.

Right now we are in Yazd but tonight we will take the road of Isfahan where hopefully we will find some shop that could help us. Do you know someone there? Do you have contacts?

Would you guys be able to help us??

Thank you very much and "Viva Iran!"

This thread is awesome! I can almost guarantee if you had VW people from everywhere, and took away the language barrier, no one would care about politics, relgion, cultural differences. We'd all be talking about how to properly tune a carburetor or which wheels would look best on one car, etc etc etc. 8)

Thank you very much and "Viva Iran!" First off cool cars and seems they all have nice paint and not much rust. Climate must be helping out. Amerikando, we met you guys in Miami Fl in Feb, nice to see all is ok and hope you get fixed and back on your journey......Good Luck!

Another thing I notice is the background scenery, some it's really nice. So different from what most people here percieve the middle east to be like, thanks to the media.
I don't know if it's possible, but I would love to have one of your shirts.

AWESOME! GUYS KEEP THOSE PICS COMING!

jennyt Mon Nov 08, 2010 9:58 pm

Wow--what a great variety in the colours of your beetles, too! I'd like to see a picture of all of them with Damavand in the background.

Hellaslow Mon Nov 08, 2010 11:28 pm
