If you have any Oval-Window glass information, please add it to this thread, which is now in the FAQ.
Information posted by FRK in the past:
'56-'57 oval two small logos with ~D-02/AS2 in between (Lower logo backwards under the first logo)
Late '53 to end of July '55 big logo with ~D-02/AS2 under SEKURIT.
July '53 and older logo has a large SEKURIT and nothing else.

I just checked out the manufacturers "logo" on an original used Oval sedan windshield that I have stored for back-up use on my Sunroof if ever needed. Here is a shot of the logo:
Does anyone have any idea what type of glass and era (years) it is from?
Thanks!

Speaking of Oval windshield logos, here is another one. This logo is on an original windshield glass that I have put away for an Oval Kabriolett. What the hell do I have here? Era? Type of glass? Do you think this has that tempered circle in front of the drivers field of vision?
The actual windshield is all padded and boxed in storage, but that photo above of the post-it note shows a line-by-line illustration of what the logo looks like on the glass.
Thanks!

Bill,
From this thread http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/posting.php?mode=quote&p=6572827 this response laminated glass - I believe a good B/C would have it as a M-code
templeofspeed wrote: I'm doing a 10/56 beetle, it has a Delog as well. Never been replaced. You will not find an early car with the M089 AS1 laminated windshield that matches all the other tempered glass. My car has all Duro Glas everywhere else.
Sigla and Delog made the laminated windshields for type 1. Transporters are a different story, and we are dealing with a beetle here... I have never seen a Duro or Sekurit laminated windshield.
I restored a Standard Zwitter that had a Sekurit windshield as well as all the other glass, but it was not laminated, typical for a standard model.
I think you are safe in assuming you have the OG part. |

AS-1 means laminated.
AS-2 is tempered. |

I have a piece of rear glass & don't know if it's sedan or vert & have been unsuccessful looking through the other glass threads.
Single large SEKURIT with the squiggle / D-02 AS2 underneath... so I believe that's 54-July '55.
Width: 26.5" (~675mm)
Height: 10.75" (~275mm)
Convex high point (when laying flat): 1.5" (~40mm)
Thx,

1953-57 vert rear glass measures approximately 26.5" wide x 7" tall |

And I have one in my June '54. It's original to the car (as is all the other glass). |

Does anyone have a picture of the VISURIT logo supposedly used for US spec ovals?
I am trying to figure out what was original for my 1955 sedan. I have not seen a picture posted of this logo though. If anyone has an original windshield and they post it up it would be great for the site!
Thanks! |

Oh, I am still researching and it may be the Delog logo I need to use for the windshield. AS-1 type. |
