Finally found the culprit for my westy's follies relating to this post:

Did an engine compression check and the first cylinder (the one under the AFM) and it had an engine compression of ZERO :( . Blew a valve, the rest were normal.
Ben and Terry, you guys were 100% right; now you can say "I told you so!" Good idea to check compression before putting money into the beast :lol: .
Good news, got a new westy that is running great. Anyone need parts in the Bay area before it goes to the wrecking yard? Send me a PM. |
