Been running a single 1 1/2 inch SU on my Beetle for a while now, and it has proven itself to be reliable and smooth running.
However I've had the carbs and linkage off one of these Monaro kits gathering dust in the shed for decades. The manifolds were missing when I got these, but I have a spare stock manifold that I'm going to butcher to fit the SUs.
As I get into it there will be pics. |

| Good to see another one in NZ! I am keen to see photos of your Monaro kit for sure. I would like to see how(and if) the chokes were operated originally especially. |

I'm curious about how the chokes worked too mate! I'll have to think something up, either cables or some sort of link.
TBH I've never bothered with choke actuation on the single SU setup, I just give the bug a few minutes to warm up before driving.
Pretty much all I have is the two carbs and the rod linkage that joined them.
