just seeing if anybody has had this happen to them before with there sliding door. Our door pops out past the first lock when we are driving. This is ongoing thing and we can't figure out why and how it is doing this.
The door pops out on the hwy and driving on the street????
please help

Loosen up the sticker pin in the back and move it forward. Fixed it for me |

| There is a sliding door adjustment section in the bentley at 58.14. The latch pin can be worn or the latching mechanism needs replacing are options too. |

| With our long history with the vanagons a good lubrication of the latch will help a lot more recently my latch wore out :( so i got a replacement from the junk yard I also adjusted the hinge roller to pick it up and solve a hard closing problem. |

Mine was popping open in the winter, about four years ago. I readjusted the striker pin and it would stay closed. Unfortunately, it wouldn't latch in the second position.
I can see a gap on the back edge of my door and it appears to sag about 1/16" Someday, I will put on the like new, reinforced latch assymbly, unworn striker pin and check over my bearings and alignment. |
