are you trying to determine if this is a good deal (which i do not think is original)?

Yep...I'm usually not one to play the "flip these parts" game but I'm starting to run a little shorter on funds for my own project.
I just don't recall seeing sems on Kubels... |

I don't think those are Kubel sems. SWF made lots of "boxed" sems for lots of applications. Of course to the seller they are Kubel... |

and if you were going to resell i think it would be harder to sell fast being not everyone has a kubel |

It seems to me, the German army would not want to put a lit target on their military vehicles... |

yes... but not always. I guess parts were deleted during the assembly of the vehicle if those parts weren't available or too scarce.
Also there were different mounting positions:
(please note that I do not know if the semaphores on these pictures are original or fakes but if gives a good idea about the different mountings). |

The early Kübelwagen had semaphores. The First ones had it mouted on special Holders like you see on the old Black-White Picture on the Bottom, the later ones were just fixed on the sidepanels. In reason of saving thr ressources, the late Kübelwagen were produced without semaphores.
The semaphores were not made especially for Volkswagen, they used the so called 'Wehrmachts-Einheits-winker' which were used for most of the Wehrmachtvehicles. They were made by different Producers like SWF, Hasag or Melas. |

I bought a set of SHO "boxed" sem's for my Kubel replica, here on Samba. Since my car is really a '73 Thing chopped and re-fendered to look like a Kubel, I don't have the width of material on the windshield frame to mount them there. I'm still considering whether to go to the work of building the tubing stands, or just mount them on the body like the Dunklegrau car sitting in front of the 'plane.

I tried out my sem's this afernoon. I'll have to go with the tubing mounts, account the shovel blade interferes with the body side location on the driver's side. But, that's OK, the tubes are not a bad fabrication job. They'll also be straighter, front-to-back, because my windshield pivot pin is farther forward than on a "real" Kubel :)
