After a search I got the CB Performance Oil Breather, but I did not realize that it will hit the rain catch.
I installed straight and in the third foto you can see how the rain catch put it back, it is ahhhh :cry:
Any ideas ?
Thanks for your help.

Is it the small filter only that is hitting the rain tray? |

Hi Vince, no is not the small filter, is the top border of the breather. |

I can think of three options, in order of decreasing expense:
1) try a 69 and earlier rear decklid w/ the integrated rain tray;
2) return the CB oil filler/breather combo and go back to stock or switch to a different filler type;
3) remove the plastic rain tray and don't drive your car in the rain.
Obviously, #2 is the most practical option. :lol: |

If it was the filter element, you could put a double elbow on it and relocate it to the side.
But, since it is the housing itself, I'm with Sactojesse: take the unit back. Perhaps they sold you one for the Beetle instead of the Ghia?

As mentioned above you could go for a different breather. Here's mine :-

It's deceiving how much room isn't in a Ghia engine compartment. Here is my new breather system.

I had the same problem with the Berg unit I have. I had considered heating up the rain tray and reshaping it to make the breather fit but decided to just remove the tray. [img]
