It's finaly here after a couple of months of waiting my 61 ambulance has fianly arived from Saskatoon Saskatchewan Canada. As I understand it this was one of two in the Saskatchewan area. I didn't find out where it's life started but later on it was used as a meat delivery van. It was sitting in a scrap yard for some time before it was picked up by the owner I got it from. It shows 94 thousand miles on the od.

The second owner took the term "meat wagon" literally. :D

Very cool bus.......

The things that are missing don't bother me. I don't intend on making it a useable ambulance again. The look of it is cool in itself in the sea of 21's and 23's this thing will stick out. When was the last time you saw an ambulance in a show. I think I remember one at the classic in the late 90's fairly rare item in any condition.

THe hooks are great. So, an ambulance repurposed as a butcher shop delivery vehicle? that is awesome.

Looks like an ambulance might be really well suited to camping. Cool project - I always like the unusual models. Good luck with it, and post more pics!

Sump oil heater for cold-weather areas.

I have followed that 59 ambulance since it was in WA without the strechers and half the price. You can't deny that is one awesome bus. I wanted that one first but the price was out of my league. I wanted a cool rare bus to cruise around in. A split bus gets a ton of looks a split ambulance all painted white and the red crosses is out of this world. I want to find the missing jail bars and misc handles that are missing but I don't have a use for the strechers. I wouldn't turn a pair away but the chance of finding them would be less than a needle in a hay stack. The spring bugorama is my goal. I have a motor and this weekend I'm shooting to replace the 4 doors and possibly fix the dog leg so the front door will close again.
