I'm installing the doghouse tin (2 piece), all is going well but I noticed that my fuel filter is sitting right where the hot air exit is. Would this be a problem?
Would the disconected heater box touching the filter be a problem? |

| Move your filter to underneath your gas tank or where the hard line exits by the left rear wheel. |

By move it i would need a new hose?
I didnt want to put it too close to the cv joints, so thats why i put close to firewall tin.
I guess i could buy a pipe to cover where it is now. |

| You do not want the filter in the engine compartment at all! That is how most of the engine fires happen in a VW. Put it on the other side of the firewall where the metal line comes through, and yes you will have to buy another piece of $3 hose and a couple of clamps to do that. |

Strange. The fuel line should be well above the oil cooler hot air exit chute. Maybe the hard line that exits the front tin is not bent at the correct angle? Pics might help. Even if you change the fuel filter location, the line itself shouldn't be running below the hot air exit; that's asking for trouble. |

Put a little grease on the hose and the filter before you shove it in. |

A squirt of WD-40 will work. |
