I'm trying to install a new heater cable on a pan off 1954 bug. I can't get the cable to feed through further than about 4 inches. I am putting them through the correct holes inside the shaft, but they won't feed through.
I removed the original (broken) cable about 3 weeks ago, and they came out fine. I have tried putting bailing wire down the shaft, and it won't go through either. I have tried feeding bailing wire through the back, to the front, and it gets stopped as well. It seems that there is a curve in the tube, and the cable can't feed through at the correct angle.
Does anyone know any tricks on how to do this?

While you feed the cable , turn it either clock wise or counter clock wise at the same time it will find its way through. |
