View original topic: VIAir auto-shut off?

My Syncro came with a compressor - ViAir compressor with pressure switch.
I've used it a couple times - probably not for intended use (IE lowering tire pressure for off-road driving).

I recently moved it. I've not finished re-wiring it. I had a question about these...

The compressor I use for woodworking - gets the tank up to pressure, then shuts off. I can't tell if this ViAir thing is the same - ie, can I just leave it on, or do I need to monitor the pressure gauge, and turn off when it hits a certain point?

I'm guessing you'll need more info about my setup, but I don't know what info to give...;)

I have two versions made by ViAir. Both of mine stay on and you monitor tire pressure and shut it off when you have the desired pressure. That is common with these, not just ViAir.

got ya - thanks.

I wish there was some way to not have to monitor it...I don't know how the shut off works on my regular tool compressor. Another project to look into....

I just contacted the manuf - and realized I have what I need - which is a pressure switch. It says it is supposed to turn on at 100 PSI and off at 150 PSI - now I just need to figure out if my tank can hold 150 PSI - then I can just turn it on - and forget about monitoring it - except for leaks...
