I want to put a European style cloth interior back into my 1959 European Beetle. The interior was gutted before I got it.
My question is if the door panels were cloth also, or were they vinyl. I know the early cloth interior cars had cloth door panels but you never see a post-57 with euro cloth. |

On my former 59 bug there was vinyl door panels and that¦s original. It were the model after August 1959 with the new door handles and steering wheel.

So it would be correct if I had the correct pattern vinyl door panels and the seats in cloth. |

Call Lenny at WEST COAST CLASSICS and ask him, he will be able to tell you if European 58s & 59s had cloth interior or not. My frist reply is no but now you have me thinking. All the litterature l looked at say that the door panels became multicolored in 1958 no mention of a difference between European or American.

Thier website shows Punchkin cloth being the last offered cloth for 56-57 and nothing afterwards |

Hi From New Zealand
well, I have owned an orginal German 59 beetle that did NOT have cloth interior
(apart from the headliner)
I do wonder if it was an option to have it or not?? |
