Does VW make a desiel for the Bug in the U.S.

There was at least one WWII era prototype diesel engine Bug built but no never an air cooled production model diesel engine for the bug.
New Beetle, Yes they make a turbo diesel. |

| the 1.9tdi comes stock with 90bhp in the usa but in europe you get a gti tdi with 150bhp smoking. im not sure if the PD engines are available in the beelte ? since its built only in puebla i dont think they have the new tdi's in the beetles yet. but its a great car i had a 1998 tdi for about 6 months |
