I have a 1973 beetle, and the body is off of the chassis. I have new heater channels but I don't know if I should bolt them to the chassis or weld them to the body after the old ones are cut out. Which is best to maintain the shape of the car? |

There are some webpages out there that discuss this. my personal experience from the 2 cars I've done is to bolt them to the pan, and put the shell on it...the tighted the bolts in the trunk(to the chassis) and the ones in the back fenders, then postion everything, and tack the baby...
Keep in mind you need to jack the car off the floor, so the chassis doesn't bend and twist(the shell on top also)
Good Luck ;) |
