I have been looking for a ragtop for about ten years now and I finally found one (1958), but someone chopped it up into a baja. I have a 69' baja with a good pan, will the 58' body fit on my 69' pan?? Does anyone know where I can find info on what year bug parts are interchangable????

Pretty much every year....
But Yea, It'll fit on the pan...I've seen '57's on '70's pans...etc...you'll just have to get the wiring right, maybe the speedo cable...brake-stuff, etc... Since the '58 has a single outlet metal reserve..you'll need to get a dual for the dual one on the '69, or split it or something, as far as I know, it's simple though...BUt if you can, Stay with the '58, they'r simple enough to restore...and it will be more worth your effort...but if you MUST, then go with a '69... |
