no idea but im guessing its home built and been sittin out a while. Its got potential though. Looks fun

Yea its definitely been sitting for a while..my plan is too strip it down and repaint it. Redo the brakes, front kingpins ,new electrical, see if the trans is good and throw a motor in it. It came with the front and rear bumper pieces that I will eventually put on, along with some other extra parts.

You must be really strong.

Did you get a sweet price? Looks like a lot of work.

I've rebuilt a worse looking sandrail..Its mostly surface rust. I paid $400..not exactly sweet, but I don't consider it too bad either.

4 aint bad at all. The frame doesn't look pitted.

It has some name on the back cage what looks like FREE-Z-MOON USA..I can't find anything on it though.

Looks like T-3 rear brakes by the drum laying in the floor.
Good as it gets for drums............ 8)

Lots of potential there with that buggy.

Thanks Gary for the info. They are 10.5". Do you know what year Type 3 would be safe to use to buy some new shoes, spring kits, and wheel cylinders?

Type 3, 1966 and up thru 1973, use the same rear brake shoes.

Today I pretty much stripped it down to the frame. The bolts all came out not too bad. I only broke one. Its almost ready for a blasting.

jbreddawg Wed Oct 27, 2010 6:25 pm

Looks better already :D

EMPIImp69 Fri Oct 29, 2010 5:29 pm

Thanks Jdawg, I did a little more stripping today. I called a few places to blast this thing but they were kinda pricy and they couldn't take it in right away..so I started to use sanding discs on the grinder. Its actually quicker than my sandblaster since my compressor can't keep up that well. I am going to use the discs for as much as possible then I will blast all the hard to reach spots.

EMPIImp69 Wed Nov 03, 2010 4:45 pm

Almost fully blasted..
