Any good ideas on running semaphores on a 12 car. no one seems to have a real good idea with there own experience to back it up. Ive heard using reducers, but nobody can claim any that will definatly work. some say 2 6-volt batteries in series, or a 6-volt batt just for the semaphores.

Your best bet is to have the semaphores rebuilt to 12 volt. A number of people do this with good results. Matthew from Matt's Bug Parts in Canada, Carlos Guzman in L.A. BFY Obsolete in Orange, Ca. are all capable of doing this. I know Matt's Bug Parts has a website with a links that is here on The Samba's links page. Good luck.

I've run semi's in my 56 Euro Oval, I used reducer's and it's not a big deal...just don't leave them on for too long at the stop light and you'll be cool..otherwise you'll wind up with a melted lense..reason for this is that most reducer's SAY 12-6 but are really like 12-9...I used a reducer from bugpack, it was nice and small for my radio in my bus, and it too worked fine, just the radio light shined really bright...good luck.
