| Hey, someone suggested I post in here, for what I'm looking for. I had been drawn to the split window design, until I learned that they werent available in auto-transmission.(btw, I'm still tossing around the idea, but not sure) Also, I'm not sure they'd be good for a camper, but I'm drawn to the wrap-around back windows. I was thinking I wanted to sort of rebuild my own bus, but after running the figures, I'm not so sure. There is one thing I need to ask about the paint. I am wanting a good condition bus with a 60's tie-dyed paint job, which I have a feeling would be hard to find. How much would it cut the price down, if I did a paint job myself? Given those conditions, what model do ya'll think would suit me best? I would really like to meet all of these, but I doubt that would be possible. |

| You could put a Type 3 three speed automatic transmission in a split bus I would imagine. PM me if you want to buy a complete AT setup? |

| Hmm, I never thought about that. The main thing that draws me to splitty's, are the safari windows. Is it possible to get safari windows in the back, on a bay window bus? Might be cheaper than changing the transmission, I figure. |
