We shall see about getting some kind of campout going at the track. Last year they were supposed to have an event there that evening that we couldn't plan anything and then for some reason they canceled that day!

If mine is up and running I will be heading up this year waterless. I may cruise with you if that's cool. K - We will work to all out in time. :D

We went and ate at the diner at the show spot, it was pretty tasty. It will be open this year for breakfast and lunch and when ever anyone feels like eating.

Also , the lot is no longer a "rock quarry", it is now paved and cleaned up a bit

Both very good to hear. :D

Shows in parking lots do get hot, but gravel lots stir up so much dust when you have a bus with an exhaust pointing downward and I hate that.

cool to hear about the lot being paved - but I really enjoyed the food vendor, very intertaining - burger was pretty good to.

:D

Eh, I might decide to come to this.
See if I can get the dirty Laundry machine to make another appearance this year, perhaps?

Should be there.I'm glad the date changed as I got married last year on the weekend of cts,so now I can go and not have to get bitched at that it's our anniversary and you going to some stupid vw show.

zuggbug Thu Dec 02, 2010 3:33 pm

Jake, bring the wifeeee with you - who knows she might start liking vw's

jake74 Thu Dec 02, 2010 3:47 pm

She goes to most of the local shows but the ride to bulli last year done her in on the long distance shows.

great! that should make it even hotter than last year. \:D/

looking forward to this show, should be good.

VWAdam Thu Dec 02, 2010 3:59 pm

Considering during the summer it's like the surface of the sun here, a little Charlotte heat ain't nothin to me.
Well, last year was a little brutal, made me feel like I was still in bama
Jake, just be sure to get Katie to make some of those cookies for Sam.

technically the date didn't change, its always the 3rd Sat. of May. Give it a few years....

Regina Fri Dec 03, 2010 9:11 am

Normally, it is not as hot as it was that weekend. Charlotte, like many other places had a very hot summer last year. The weekend before and after that the temps were in the early 70's.

Normal Temperatures
(CHARLOTTE DGLAS INTL AP Weather station, 6.04 miles from Charlotte)
Month May
Max °F 79.7
Mean °F 69.0
Min °F 58.2

That is why we chose May, and didn't go to April with Farmington when they changed their dates.

So far with the exception of last year being too hot, we have had really good luck with the weather. (knock on wood)
