Had a couple days off and went at it again, doesn't look like a lot but a few days worth of work put in on it.
Oh, and I ordered a supercharger and LSD for it :)

I knew you couldn't resist
Lovin' the progress, looks good stick some brakes, steering and rad on it and rip around the block a bit so much fun 8)
That buggy will handle great, would be awesome for autocross! |

Love the progress, I can see the difference in two days worth. Are those upper frame rails welded in on one end but not the other? Sensing some magic happening with that body frame connection that I can't quite get my head around.
For those of you new to the thread, here is the original post, good reading...

| The rails are made to be installed after the body is laid into place. They lock into place with notches to create an 'interference' fit then are also bolted into their respective cradles. |

| I saw the mounts in the back but couldn't discover the counterpart in the front from the photos. I might have been tempted to hide those under the fiberglass lip on the sides but I'm guessing you have plans for them where you put them. Thanks for the updates, a very cool project. 8) |

Because I have the side pods (which are filled with foam), hiding them wasnt an option. So they are inside, about 1/2 inch higher than the body and will be covered in the same leather as the seats. I think it'll look pretty nice once its all done :) |

| I like the idea of the upper frame rails, great for extra side impact protection! |

I'm guessing he will probably have to take those on and off about 100 more times before the proper orientation is an issue..... When you fabricate a buggy at this level there are so many trial fittings and assembly disassembly functions needed to get it right and "see into the future" that the closest tire was probably the one that got mounted. I'm pretty sure he was focussed on other things with this photo opportunity.....
It is a cool project to be sure. |

No they're not....the wheels are merely on the wrong side...swapping sides will put your directional tyres in the correct orientation.
Guess it doesn't matter at this stage as your project has a fair way to go so as a rolling chassis no harm done. However running your tyres this way round when the car is finished will result in rapid tyre wear and possible "chunking" of the tread.
Great project tho..........good to see sombody doing something different.
Keep posting the pics :D |

Again looks awesome, lovin' the progress!
Any reason why you went for a supercharger and not a turbo? Any idea what hp numbers it should make?
Back end looks good too, usually one of my concerns with a midengine build.
How's the engine weight displacement, looks like it would be heavier on the passenger side or is that just and illusion? |

Nice!
How does one go about designing hinges like those on your rear cover? Is there a formula or something? Trial and error? I need something like that for my Deserter engine cover - and maybe front hood!
