| I've been told that parts for the Vanagon automatic transmission are no longer available....any truth to that? |

From the dealer, probably not many left in the system. Good news is if you are talking about the automatic section, that section was used in lots of other VW and Audi's of the same era, so hard parts are available used if you search around. You can also get the rebuild kits and piston seals aftermarket.
The differential section is vanagon unique, bearings and seals are available, and someone is even selling a taller ring and pinion new. |

| Parts for the 003 transmission used in Type 3, 4, and early 70's Type 2's have disappeared, but to the best of my knowledge the parts for the Vanagon autobox are still available. |

| Just had mine rebuilt a year ago... praying parts will be around for a long(er) time to come. |
