This isn't really vintage, as it's new(er) from Hazet (and probably aimed at the aviation crowd), but it would be a neat tool set for a VW.
Has 1/4" (4 to 14 mm) and 1/2" (10 to 30 mm) drive sockets, 8 to 19 mm wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, etc. Stores everything vertical, which may not be the best use of space, but does keep things handy.
Just under $1,100 for the set (box and 70 tools). Too bad they don't sell the box by itself yet.
