| i have a 69 bug and its a generater i want to put an alternator on it but i wanted to know since its already 12 volt if i have to buy the gen/alt conversion kit or just get an alt? |

| The 12v generator stand is different than the alt. stand so You may want to buy the kit, or place a want ad here. |

Hey;
I've not converted my 71 over to alternator partly because the generator has never given me any problems.
However, this issue has been posted many times here, and it always seems that conversion kits are mentioned - costing about $150.00. I'm not sure where you'd get one, but I'm guessing RMMW or JBugs or someplace like that.

| i would keep my gen its just that i am going to be putting a stereo system in it so i need to extra power for it |
