Could be a pipe dream, maybe....But I am wanting to get some different mirrors for my westy, I was thinking about getting truck mirrors form vancafe but then I was looking at the new FJ and thought those mirrors would look pretty sweet on a vanagon, plus they are power and have a cool side marker too.

Anyone done or thought about this further? the mounting base would need some work but I believe this would work in an almost stock position.

Looks like I need to find a set of fj mirrors

These look like they would work without too much work.

There are others on ebay with the light but quality looks low.

I had considered using Jeep Wrangler mirrors. They are roughly the same shape as the stock Vanagon mirrors and they are darn near ubiquitous.

The only downside would be you would have to drill holes in the vertical portion of the door skin, rather than the angled portion where the stock, floppy mirror currently resides.

Gowesty truck mirrors are on the top of my list of mirrors.

You know I was thinking the same thing earlier this year when a friend purchased a new FJ!

I think they could work with only minor mod to the mounting base to add the sharp ledge of the vanagon door skin.

Oh, man I feel a winter project coming on!
