I think I was using 90-100 psi. That gun should be fine, it doesn't go on like paint, but sort of splatter finish. Good idea to stir.

Nice one thanks for the link. Its saying in there to sand.... rough up smooth or glossy surfaces :o awe man more work lol never ends :roll: Some day my van will see the road..... some day :lol:

Ill give the gun another shot.. but I'm not sure? it was just like lumps splattering off the tip not even going in the right direction i.e. flying all around not hitting the cardboard right at all, bits flying up in my face lol.

Anyways Ill play a little more with it if I cant make it work Ill get another.

Seems like very low volume of material coming out - orifice too small, pressure too low? It should spray in a wider pattern too. Are you holding the gun upright? It appears sideways in the video.

I bought some Noxudol for the floor of my van. I was curious of a few things.

I'm using a roller to apply since I don't have a spray gun.

How long should I wait between coats? Should I wait the whole 6-8hrs between coats?

I got a fair bit of texture when I sprayed, but I was also spraying about 100 times more than that.

Here is what it looked like when I sprayed it with the gun quiet car sold with the stuff, it maybe took 15 mins to spray the whole inside. You can mix it with water to thin it out and see if it sprays better for you.

Seriously, it took more time to clean out the gun between coat than to spray it all. I waited 4 hours between coats and sprayed maybe 5-6 total.

Your gonna need a bigger gun. A drywall texture gun is almost the right thing to use, but I like the one they sold in the kit.

The tool is starving for material.

Most directions I read for liquid sound deadeners say, 80lbs. Max as the product will atomize and dry before contacting the surface, causing adhesion issues down the road.

If your applicator lacks an adjustable tip, I would recommending getting one that doesn't.

1/2" pickup and orifice, adjustable tip and rotatable trigger handle to keep the material plumb while spraying:

I am currently spraying, throughly mixed with a paddle, sound deadeners at 40lbs and adjusting material flow at the tip.
Full coverage is better splattered, than paint to a matte finish.
Build the material and allow to flash, reapply and allow to dry, cure completely as directed.

Thinning sound deadeners is not recommended.
Properly mixing them will yeild far better results and will not diminish the deadening qualities.

Most are for underbody protection.

At least with quiet car they specifically state that mixing with water is OK for spraying. I cannot say the same about other products, by that does comes from the manufacturer.

QuietCar.net appears to be gone. I can't find the products on Amazon or anywhere with google searches. I think the company went out of business.

Can anyone confirm this?

I noticed in one picture that InSyncro didn't spray the floor of the van. Any reason I shouldn't spray the floor? Is the product not meant to be hardwearing? It will have carpet over it in my case.

If I apply a Fatmat like material over the big panels should it go under the spray or ontop of the spray?

Same stuff! I sprayed it on the inside of all the panels in my van, floor as well! It did a great job. I Put luxury liner pro on top of that made a huge difference!!!

Just a heads up, I made a bad recommendation for this stuff awhile back. First, it really is a poor product in comparison to the QuietCar / QuietCoat product. One thing they don't tell you is the stuff has a very short shelf life, like less than 6 months. I lost two pails of it because I moved and the stuff sat unused for a couple years - and the boxes had no indication of expiry date, only on the buckets inside. The substance is like crappy concrete in texture, has silica in it, and while it may be an ok product for home walls I would never use it in a camper build.
I did just buy a 5-gal pail of QuietCoat from these folks, reasonable shipping and fast delivery:

Unlike some of the sticky-back peel and install products, this won't fall off when the metal gets hot. It also seals any cracked seams from the inside and can be sprayed into areas where hands can't reach. Something to think about.

Longtime lurker first time poster / owner, ready for the pain. Two questions (one has been asked before)... is it really necessary to sand down and prep the interior paint before digging in with the Quietcoat? Also... going to stick with original exterior paint on our van, how bad is the overspray on this stuff? Cleans up with water sounds great but just wondering if I'm going to end up with haze etc and if I should make sure this is done outside to minimize impact on exterior paint or anything that isn't masked off...
