I have a 34 PICT-3 and distributor which came from a 73 or 74 Ghia, and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if they are the correct match.
The carb number on the base is B1 270 and the distributor is 113 905 205 AN. The number on the vacuum can arm is 889. I don't know if the vacuum can is repairable, the small nipple is loose and leaking, but it seems as though the diaphragm is sound. I'd also welcome any other comments on other vacuum can or distributor options for this particular carb as well.
I've seen some of the threads here where charts are posted for matching carbs to distributors and distributors to vacuum cans, but unable to find this particular combination so far.
Thanks! |

I just dealt with this. Bosch 034 SVDA distributor I think works the best. You definitely need a vacuum advance and not just mechanical. Many many threads on here discussing 009 (mechanical advance) and 34 Pict 3 carbs and how crappy the combo is.
Are you going for accuracy or a well running engine? |

My first goal is to see if I can make use of the parts at hand, but if the distributor is not correctly matched to the carburetor then I don't want to spend the effort on it and I will move on to a different distributor. |

The 113 905 205 AN is correct for 1973 and the 34 PICT 3 will be a good match. If the plastic nipple is just loose I would glue it back in. Its rare to find both advance and retard working on these vacuum cans. |

Thanks. I'll give it a try. |
