Dirtkeep= We jumped it a nother 1/2 dozen times like that! \:D/
Shred= My car has solid mounts also. The only way to go. This is just a parts car I am trying to have some fun with before I take it apart and scrap the rusted out tub. It's a Superbeetele. |

Don't ever use a Super Beetle for a Baja, they will not stand the off roading, they are week.
NOT! |

Joe, That's why wer're trashing it! Also an experiment to see just how weak the strut towers on this thing really are. We did not brace anything. We literally cut the body and bolted up my 31's and 1835 and off we went! Here are some still shots for the guys with slow download speeds. Did I mention we ran it up a bank and rolled it the night before. If you look close you can see the dents in the roof!
Stay tuned for more! |

Cool yes, but the landings are VERY hard. Nothing I would do to a car I cared about. |

true, but goes to show the toughness of even a superbug :D
i'm guessing you pulled the rubber mounts in half causing the tranny to fall out of the cradle?
it's interesting really, everyone has told me that supers are weak, i never argued the point, however, ive never seen broken front struts and beams.
i used to trailbash my autostick super before i got a std. |

Oh we ripped the mounts sure enough. We are going to weld em solid and keep :2gunfire: till we break something significant. I am dying to see what the weak link is going to turn out to be. |

with most of the weight over the rear end i'd say you'd have to get a pretty hefty frontal impact to bend/break them front arms. i race RC cars and you only damage front A arms if you put an impact on them in a direction that they DON'T pivot. (so if you were to expose the front arms in the bug, you'd have to hit a wall on one corner to break that arm)
but we can talk about theory till the cows come home  |

i think XLR8 is suggesting that you need to attempt to break the front end next  |
