yea, mine came with drl. both Canadian, and i think Scandinavian?
there were 2 factory relays in the relay box. cant remember locations, but one turned on low beams through a resister, like Canadian drls usual do, and the other would turn on the rest of the lights. but only when the engine was running. i pulled that relay, didn't feel it was necessary. but left the drl. going to switch its ground so i can let it idle with the lights off. actually, now that i think of it, the original owner had this van in Luxembourg for a couple years. that might be why it had the marker light drl too.

The Swedish market fog/driving lights are kind of cool and out of the way. Cost about €200 plus shipping used. Maybe less if you buy from EBay Europe. This red Tristar owner added two more lights on the brush guard. Must be really foggy where he's from. Probably in 88formula's neighbourhood.

I like those BenT. They look like Projezt fog lights, but does that push the lower grill out too? Are those lamps replaceable? Where can I find more info on this?
Can't realy see those oettinger ones. Is there a thread on them? Or website?

The Projekt Zwo foglights are in two separate housings, and the lights themselves are very thin. The housing is less than two inches thick and does not require any cutting in the front panel of the car. Both the Oettinger version and the Bernd Jaeger alternative require holes in the front.

Those Project Zwo lamps are sweet and are a great compliment to the later rectangular look. Kudos.

Some argue the NEED for fog or driving lamps. It depends on how and where you use the vehicle. I rely on the extra light when in the outback, on unpaved roads. This is where my camping and destinations are. The drive may be slow but illumination is a HUGE factor in avoiding tire blow outs. Yes, my lights have been upgraded for everyday use, but when on forest service roads having those Hella 500 lamps is like double-insurance. They have saved my skin on several occasions when rounding a corner to find cattle or deer in the road...just beyond the range of my "normal" lighting.

I was on the Supper bright led web site an they now offer a daylight/fog light led light kits for 25.00. Not factory but small enough to fit under the bumper..

They only look like the PZ lights. I have a set of those. I can't post a proper pic from my Picasa on this fruitPhone. Otherwise, I can post an uninstructed shot of the Swedish lights. They are huge and sticks out quite a bit. You they are not yet unobtanium like the PZ lights.

OK I figured out a way to keep Safari from blocking the link. It used a Opera.

To the OP's question, I suspect it's going to be a serious structural challenge to put foglights down in that air dam. There's nothing to mount them to except the air dam itself and that's going to allow them to wobble all over the place. But if that's the place, then fortunately there are a lot of mini lights on the market these days and I'm sure one will fit.

I don't think it will be a problem structualy, I won't be mounting them to the air dam ( I hate seeing oncoming lights bouncing in your eye from being screwed to the plastic bumper on a sunfire....) I will spend the time creating a solid mount fixed to the frame. Driving lights I plan on putting on top of the bumper. I still like BenT syncro's pics. The projekt zwo lights are too thin. Beam may be too tall because of that. Just a "work" or "flood lamp".

i dont think i will be going with those. there to thin to alow a proper light patern. i dont feel like cutting the body for deeper ones ether. if i get driving lights in the future, they will just have to sit on top of the bumper.

found these. look ok. has a "fog" pattern. well have to see.

You keep using the word "thin" in describing some aspect of foglamps you don't want. This word is hard to apply to a lamp. Lamps have depth (front to back), width (side to side), and height (top to bottom). You are using this word as though it affects beam pattern. Whatever the measurement you refer to is, it does not affect beam pattern. The pattern is determined by the shape of the reflector, and the placement of the filament relative to the focal point primarily. You can make a round shallow light have a square beam pattern and you can make a square light have a round pattern.

So, don't get hung up on a light dimension in a world of CAD designed reflectors.

I was hopeful when I saw the link. I still haven't gotten over having my Pzwo fogs stolen a few months ago. Right out of my driveway, bastards!

I love the look of the Pzwo and even the Swedish lights but I'm just going to stick to the cheap Hella 500's for a while. They work fine, replacement lenses are available and, most importantly, they're cheap enough that I don't have to worry as much about theft or damage off road.

I have to chime in with what you are saying. I spent a few years designing LED lighting, and optics was part of the job. Yes, a bigger reflector gives you more control over the beam pattern, but these are 100% controlled light systems - the glass is another light shaping element.

I, too, wouldn't worry about this. I would be more concerned about the design, and that is hard to tell until the thing is fired up and shining down the wall.

Note that on their detail shot, it appears their kit is designed to fit the SA lower grill. I could be mistaken but the original (shorter) lower grill does not extend that far.
