HA!! Too funny!! I have gotten a little chuncky over the past 20 years!! I did mostly ride alone and it is the drivers side that is off by about 2 inches. I've done my share of raising and lowering the back end of a bug and I'm 99.9% both sides are set the same. IF it is weak torsion is it fixable? THis is something I've never dealt with before.
What about a poorly lowered front end... if it is off by one inch would raise the back 2?? |

an uneven rear can also be something off on the opposite corner in the front as well |

Poorly lowered? ... so the front isn't straight either? :?
Now, if you've lowered and raised vw's a million times... slap a different torsion arm in there see what happens, wouldnt take long and isn't very difficult.
If it doesnt fix it, it'll at least get rid of one "unmeasurable" possibility.
...Also make sure the torsion arm bushings are in good shape too.
If not, refer to CLASSIC CAR GUYS'S list above... sounds accurate to me |

Sometimes if you have a funky, non-matching fender, it can make things look a little off.
I thought the hefty girlfriend reason was the best. |
