Very few people ever replace the stock hydraulic lifters with solids, as the hydraulics give very little problem. You probably have hydraulic lifters that are getting gummed up from having been run with old dirty oil. Add the recommended amount of Marvel Mystery Oil to your crankcase for at least several hundred miles and then afterward run a high viscosity index synthetic oil like a 0w40 or 5W40 as synthetic will keep your engine cleaner inside and an oil that is thinner when cold will help the lifters to pump up. |
