Got around to checking out the shift rod today because ever since I have owned the car the shifter has been sloppy. Guess what? The bushing was completely gone. After the install the shifter is nice and tight. Still grinds a little (although not as bad as it used to) going from 3rd to 2nd. Guess I’ll have to keep double clutching to keep from doing that. The question I have though is what kind of adhesive should I use to reattach the floor carpeting? Is Elmer’s spray adhesive good enough or is there something special for this application that I should use? There is tar board (sound deadener?) on the floor so I don’t know whether that makes a difference or not.
Any suggestions? Thanks. |

Where is the carpet? Stock it only covered the sill and front kick space. Accessory carpets often just lay over the hump and floorpan. |

This one lays on the floor pan and over the center hump. There was some kind of residue on the back of the carpet, almost like a skin that I can peel off in areas. Just wondering what kind of glue I should use. |

3m interior adhesive. comes in a spray can with 3 settings on nozle, pretty much available in any parts or hardware store. |
