I read the thread on engine stands and went to the eBay site of VWAlley1 but he no longer lists the adapter for VW engines. I sent him a message to see if they're still available but haven't heard back.
Is there another option for attaching a 40hp to a Harbor Freight stand? |

Gee whiz. I saw Porsche in the title and missed the VW part. (Dope slap)
Can I assume this fits the HF 4-leg stand (cheaper of the two 4-leg)? |

I believe it does but Glenn Ring might know for sure if he reads this thread. |

There are several good threads about this. That does look like the universal mount to fit the generic engine stands--but, you need to get a little adapter that has little nubs on it you grind to fit in the engine stand. Very easy. Poke around for threads on the engine stands and adapters.
Pretty sure this is the same seller:

I have this and used it to build and run my 36 hp engine on the stand. Very handy. |
