I'm painting my 6s and 8's. I started to make a lazy susan rig to spin the wheels, but this was a helluva lot easier - besides I have a week of rain coming in 48hrs. I just have to pick up the wheel -inside the rim- to rotate or flip it to do the back.
I have been reading about TRANSTAR paints being a good value, so thought I would give them a try. 3X (2 light ones so far) epoxy primer + surfacer/primer on the faces, then a one-shot acrylic. WHITE, WHITE, WHITE .. traditional buggy wheels topped off with Baby Moons.

I love this Transtar paint. Cheapo Harbor Freight gun still lays it down pretty good too. Heavy coats seemed tack-free in about a 1/2hr sitting outside - light coats in a few minutes. (we are rarely below 40% humidity here) This is the third/last epoxy primer coat.
I have used Nason and duPont, I like this stuff just as well. I like the prices too.
