Redoing the rear axle seals on my Oval as I apparently trashed the large O-rings installing them wrong the first time. The question I have is do all of the axles have the same set-up and use the thin paper gasket between the bearing housing and the axle. If If install the O-ring around the bearing first, it doesn't allow the paper gasket to fit flush. If the O-ring seals, why is that gasket necessary anyhow? Thanks... Jeff |

The paper gasket is not used until about '65. If you are supposed to have item #12 (often missing) you are not supposed to use a paper gasket. |
